And a shock!
This little kitty was sitting in the ditch on the side of the road just posing for pictures. We saw a car that paused for a moment on the road and pointed to something in the ditch and when we rolled up the car drove off and we saw this lynx just sitting pretty. It had that peaceful, sleepy look on its face like it just woke up from a nap. It slowly blinked and stared right at us. Such a rare sight! We were so lucky to see it. To add to that amazing sighting we had just seen another one cross the road in front of our car about mile away. All in all we had three lynx sightings at Denali in two days. Since our summer working there the snowshoe hare population has only increased which has increased the lynx population as well.
