Denali Visit 2

Wow! Great sightings this evening! First, I must say that we were on our way to the Kenai Peninsula for several days (pictures of that coming soon) and we decided to stop at Denali for the night since we left Fairbanks later than planned that day. It was about seven in the evening when we were driving through the park and had another lynx walk right out in front of the car. She crossed the road and stopped right on the shoulder. Then she went back to the other side of the road and we saw them! Kittens! Just a couple at first. Some big construction trucks came by making lots of racket and they disappeared into the woods. We waited by the road for a about five minutes when we saw a park shuttle bus stopped about a half mile behind us with its flashers on at the dry creek bed. So we quickly turned around and headed over there. There they were in the dry creek bed--the mother lynx with four kittens!!! What a sight! And since we are still figuring out settings and everything on our camera so a lot of these pictures are not the best. The camera kept focusing on the trees behind them. A bummer but all part of the learning process. After that we figured out how to set our focal point so hopefully that won't happen again. So this is what we got...
