Andrew and I had never been to the western side of the Kenai Peninsula so we took a few days last week and drove the 700 miles down there. It was a beautiful drive and it was nice to have a wetter climate for a few days. A small town near Homer called Anchor Point is the most western point in the US you can reach by car. And at one point we were just across the bay from Mt. Redoubt, a 10,000 ft. volcano, that last erupted earlier this year in March.
